    Department of Anaesthesiology

The Department of Anaesthesiology at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH), Delhi, provides comprehensive anaesthesia, perioperative and critical care services for major, complex and super-speciality procedures.

 

Infrastructure

* 12 fully equipped modular operation theatres
* Modern anaesthesia workstations and advanced monitoring systems
* 16-bedded Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
* Comprehensive perioperative and critical care facilities

Super-Speciality Services
Anaesthesia services are provided for:
* Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery
* Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary Surgery
* Urology 
* Complex and high-risk surgical procedures
* Pain management clinic 

Interventional Pulmonology
Anaesthesia support is provided for advanced pulmonology procedures, including:
* Bronchoscopy
* Bronchoalveolar Lavage (BAL)
* Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
* Other advanced bronchoscopic procedures

Anaesthesia Services
The department provides:
* General Anaesthesia
* Regional and Neuraxial Anaesthesia
* Ultrasound-guided Regional Anaesthesia
* Anaesthesia for high-risk and complex patients
* Advanced perioperative monitoring and management

Critical Care & Emergency Services
* Emergency anaesthesia services
* Perioperative critical care
* Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) management
* Acute and perioperative pain management

Academic & Research Activities
The department is actively involved in teaching, training, academic activities and clinical research, with emphasis on evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
